Current Projects

We are working on three projects concurrently:

The Saita Choir

We are developing a choir for Southern Africans based in the United Kingdom. This choir will perform at various places to conscientise other Southern Africans who live in the United Kingdom to come up and join hands with us. The choir will sing in virtually all the languages spoken in Southern Africa. What a task.

The Saita Gala

The second project is hosting a gala at the end of the year to fundraise. Watch out for your favourite celebrities. This choir will perform there, so be there to witness this phenomenon.

The Saita Musical

We are working on a musical that will be looking at problems in Southern Africa particularly our sister country, Zimbabwe. Yes the tracks are being laid down as we write. The choir is of course heavily involved. It is therefore paramount to be part of a success story isn't it? The musical will raise awareness on issues such as HIV/Aids, poverty, brain drain, the exploitation of our natural resources and the need to share information and ideas in a cohesive global community.

Future Projects

The Southern Africa Resource Centre

To build a Resource Centre to be probably called The Southern Africa Resource Centre, the SARC. This centre will house a number of activities, like an amphitheatre, recording studio and a radio station that will serve the African community in the diaspora and a business link service. A library of African books, CDs, Videos, DVDs, African costumes, artefacts etc. Saita will also provide translation services in the languages of Southern Africa.

Talks are underway with a local authority for allocation of piece of land. We intend to work with various charities in Southern Africa to help them achieve their goals while we achieve ours.

Saita intends to become a reference point for young artists in the different disciplines and provide them with the necessary support and assistance to develop their artistic works. Saita is all about integration and therefore it is our intention to venture into the local community and make our activities known and try to build truly cohesive communities using the arts. Saita will create programmes that will bring people of all ages together and showcase their works at the centre and at other venues.
